Mike Scharf


Mike is a co-founder of capSpire. With 20+ years of experience in the energy industry, he possesses the rare combination of both strong business acumen and technical aptitude for solving energy problems. His software expertise covers all facets, both functional and technical, of the major CTRM systems. Mike is especially proficient at helping energy companies understand the organizational system needs through architecting solutions by utilizing business process mapping, software selection, and leading implementations. He has a proven history of leading successful consulting engagements with a reputation for maximizing the effectiveness of those around him. Mike’s educational background is in process-improvement engineering, and he resolves every problem with solutions that are elegant, high quality, and cost appropriate.

Jeff Hardcastle


Jeff is a prototypical "problem solver" with a unique ability to execute on ideas that result in elegant processes and solutions. Jeff's fingerprints are all over capSpire as he has led the charge in growing capSpire from the original founders to our current global footprint. Jeff's created the unique capSpire culture that attracts and retains the best and brightest problem-solvers in the industry and has shaped capSpire into a truly unique company that always innovates everything we do. Jeff is affectionately known as the "CCO" (capSpire Culture Officer) yet remains engaged with many clients helping solve complex problems and drive client value on a daily basis. Jeff is a 1997 Graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.

Richard Payne


Richard is responsible for capSpire's business consulting practice. Based in Geneva, he has 25+ years of experience in commodities serving in both senior commercial and operational roles at Rio Tinto, Cargill, and Rosneft Trading, in addition to being a Managing Director at Accenture for commodities trading practice. Having worked in the major global trading hubs and across all the commodity classes, Richard has a particular interest and focus on the impact of technology on commodities supply chains. A regular industry commentator and speaker, Richard attended Oxford University and holds an MA and MBA.

Bernard Wehbe

Co-Founder and Managing Partner, StatSlice Systems, Inc.

Mr. Wehbe is a highly sought-after professional with over 16 years of consulting experience focused exclusively on data warehousing, analytics and business intelligence. His experience includes data warehousing architecture, OLAP, data modeling, ETL, reporting, business analysis, team leadership, and project management. Prior to founding StatSlice Systems, Mr. Wehbe served as a technical architect for Hitachi Consulting in the Dallas, TX area. Mr. Wehbe received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering and management from Oklahoma State University.

Larry Loocke

Partner, Energy and Commodity Consulting

Larry Loocke joined capSpire six years ago as a Director. In his time at capSpire, Larry has specialized in system selection, project management, and organizational change. Throughout his career, he has amassed more than 15 years of experience in various service and sales roles in the CTRM space. Prior to joining capSpire, Larry worked in senior-level services roles interacting directly with two of the largest vendors in Allegro Development and TriplePoint Technology. He also served as a system administrator and principal business analyst for the CTRM system of a Fortune 50 petrochemicals company. Larry also has a background in natural gas logistics/volume administration on the unregulated side of the energy industry. He is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Project Leader with a project portfolio that encompasses all phases of CTRM system implementation and product lifecycle.

Rusty Robeson

Partner, Energy and Commodity Consulting

Most recently a Managing Director, Rusty Robeson joined capSpire five years ago with more than a decade of experience leading RightAngle implementations and has worked with nearly two dozen clients across the following commodities: U.S. crude, Canadian crude, natural gas liquids (NGL), refined products, and liquefied natural gas (LNG). Before entering the CTRM space, Rusty spent four years as a controller/analyst for American Airlines. He holds an MBA from Oklahoma State University.

Amrik Sembi

Vice President, Global Marketing

Amrik is the Vice President of Global Marketing at capSpire and leads the strategic marketing and business development activities for capSpire’s business across North America, Europe and APAC. He has spent over 13 years helping commodities businesses across the globe utilize the best technology solutions for their operations which gives him a unique insight into the challenges that customers face in a volatile and complex market. Prior to joining capSpire in 2017, Amrik’s career highlights include client focussed sales, marketing, and project delivery positions at OpenLink, SolArc, Allegro, and CGI.

Dave Webb

Managing Director, capSpire Ltd.

As Managing Director of capSpire Ltd and capSpire Pty Ltd, Dave Webb is responsible for defining and implementing capSpire’s strategy across EMEA and APAC, overseeing day-to-day operations, and building on the firm’s successes outside of the Americas. Dave brings 20+ years of experience in delivering enterprise-grade technology solutions and is especially proficient in the global commodity trading, risk management, and financial services technology industries.

Rob Parker


Rob Parker has more than 20+ years of experience in technology and CTRM systems and provides solutions that consider underlying technical infrastructure, trade life cycle, and user expectations. He has experience working with public and private sectors in client-engagement, vendor-facing, and client-facing roles in demanding environments. With years of functional and technical-implementation experience across multiple commodities, Rob has deep expertise of leading CTRM systems. He has delivered many enterprise-ready solutions that solve complex business problems within these applications, and his expertise helps clients maximize their investments, optimize performance, and achieve project success.

Leonard Huxtable

Managing Director

Leonard has over 25 years of commodities trading, logistics, and risk management industry experience as a multi-discipline and business functional-area solution architect. He has held leadership roles in all aspects of the CTRM life-cycle, including co-leading global OpenLink practices, Account Executive, leading ETRM selection processes, SI implementation and upgrade projects and managing the energy client base. Leonard led IT management teams through upgrades, ag/base & precious metals, crude, nat gas, power and renewables implementations. Over a 20 year span, he has held various roles at OpenLink Financial, Structure Group, Accenture and now capSpire, including account executive, project manager, and functional architect/subject matter adviser. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

Lyndal McMurphy

Vice President Consulting Services

Lyndal is actively engaged in the strategic and day-to-day operations of capSpire's consulting division. A career consultant for two decades, Lyndal pushes the capSpire team to always challenge the status quo and molds capSpire's consultants to his reputation of a persistent, creative problem-solver. Lyndal is a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and CPA by training.

Paul Norris

Managing Director, Analytics

Paul will be responsible for spearheading the expansion of capSpire’s analytics practice into Europe. An industry veteran, Paul’s prior appointments include senior roles advising clients on analytics strategy and architecture, developing optimization and forecasting tools, implementing various facets of data science and integration of analytics. Paul's passions are rooted in analytics where he enjoys advising clients on emerging trends, bringing over 10 years of experience to every interaction. Paul is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Limerick and holds a Master of Science in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University.
